Make It From Scratch Carnival

Welcome to the July 21, 2009 edition of the Make It From Scratch carnival.

Editor’s Pick

Homemade Coffee Facial Mask

Homemade Coffee Facial Mask

Alexandra presents Homemade Coffee Facial Mask posted at Happy Hearts At Home. I can smell how good this must smell right through my computer screen. This would be perfect for an at home spa day in combination with my own homemade face, body, and foot scrubs.

Cooking

Abi presents Grandma’s Red Razzelberry Cake posted at Lighter Side. A tasty sounding cake recipe.

Annette Berlin presents Pesto Pasta Salad posted at Craft Stew. I’m not a big fan of pasta salad myself but with the pesto in there I could really go for this one.

Belle presents How to Make Fried Zucchini posted at Homesteaderbelle’s Blog. I bet this method could be applied to a lot of other produce items as well.

Jen presents How To: Making Mozzarella Cheese posted at Cage Free Monkeys. I’ve been particularly curious about making cheese lately (I’m planning a trip to a cheese factory next Friday even) so I just might have to try this out.

Katie presents “Homemade” Turkey Sausage posted at Kitchen Stewardship. This is such a simple alternative to buying prepared sausage.

Lauren presents Healthy Lifestyle: Green Tea posted at Holiday Honey. A perfectly cool summer beverage.

Make it from Scratch presents Campfire Delight posted at Make It From Scratch. These sure look like fun, I just need to find myself a campfire.

Mama Bear presents Zucchini Strudel posted at Gotta Little Space. Apparently you can fool yourself into thinking this is an apple dessert rather than a zucchini dessert. Should I give it a try?

Stephanie presents Easy Pickled Beets posted at Stop the Ride!. I’m not a fan of pickles or beets, but they at least look easy.

Crafting

RecycleCindy presents Recycled Plarn Backpack Pattern posted at My Recycled Bags.com. Cindy specializes in reusing plastic grocery sacks as yarn.
