Prevent water pollution by taking your car to a commercial car wash rather than doing it yourself at home. Washing your car at all is important because it will help preserve the appearance and thus the value of your car. Make the car wash a little more budget friendly by using a coupon, I can regularly find coupons for a nice car wash in my area for $10 on the back of my grocery store receipts, in home mailers, or in local newspapers.
When you wash your car at home it uses a lot of water and the soap and dirt run into the storm drains and are not treated before they end up in the environment. When you take your car to a commercial car wash, they recycle as much of the water they use as possible and the waste water is treated.
Not only will this make your more green, but it will help with the current drought situation facing many areas, especially California. The car wash can easily reuse the water where as any water you use in your driveway doesn’t get reused.
