The October issue of Real Simple has the cover story “Easy clutter control”. That excited me but I thought the article was generally useless, it suggests remodeling/furniture options to hide clutter which I don’t think are practical solutions. It did inspire two other important ideas for me.
1) Magazines are clutter. I recently moved and my magazines didn’t reach me for two months so I went to the library to read them. I didn’t have to pay for them or store them or recycling them (of course recycling is good but you don’t get 100% of what you put in out and it requires energy so not having something to recycle in the first place is better). Once my subscriptions run out this round I won’t be renewing them.
2) A quote from the editor that I found striking: “I also know that you can tell a lot more about a person by her clutter than by her well-made bed.” So what does this say about me… I like to think that I personally have a limited amount of clutter, but I make my bed only once every couple weeks when I wash the sheets. Something to ponder.

Hi knees. : ). I think i will get rid of my Time Out NY subscription. I just don’t read it, i just check the sales and move on. I guess that’s not worth it. Thanks.
