Oven Cleaning Before and After

Oven Before Cleaning

Oven Before Cleaning

Last week I asked you for ideas on how to clean my oven. I’ve lived here for a year now and I’m not really sure how many years before that it has gone uncleaned.

I gave Condo Blues baking soda and vinegar method a try and was amazed with the results. I made a paste of the two (about 1/4 cup of each per surface – door, bottom, each side, back, top) and slathered it quickly but thoroughly over each of the oven’s surfaces (the original method suggested – applying the baking powder dry and then pouring the vinegar over it – would not have worked on the sides or ceiling of the oven).

I expected a lot of hard work, frustration, and mediocre results but after leaving the paste on over night, I was amazed that it simply wiped off, along with years of gunk, with a wet sponge.

The end result is an oven that is cleaner than I ever imagined any oven could be.

I love this! I used this method on my condo that is now a rental and was AMAZED! no harsh fumes. I used a paint brush to basically just paint it on.

Your oven looks brand new!

This is so brilliant. I tried it today and had to come back and let you know. I hope you don’t think it too cheeky but I wondered if I could ask you to link your page to a Friday post I do. The aim of the posts, called ‘Buddy’s Friday’, is to help families that are suffering in today’s economic climate by showing them there are ways of doing things well that may be frugal but are definately not cheap and nasty – they are usually of more value and most of all fun. Once again I hope you don’t mind that I have asked you.

Don’t you love it when cheap, green, and easy are all tied up into one thing?
