I love to make cupcakes. They’re perfect single serving cakes. Cupcakes also freeze well – I live alone and I shouldn’t be eating an entire batch of any baked good by myself before it goes stale so I freeze them in portions.
A secret to fresh cupcakes is making sure to frost them so that the frosting creates a seal with the paper liner. In the past I’ve been very lazy about getting the frosting on the cupcakes though so I’ve been eating dry cupcakes for ages.
Last week I picked up some disposable pastry bags and a small pack of decorating tips. These make frosting the cupcakes so easy, neat, and hassle free. Clean up is extremely easy to as you just toss out the bag and pop the tip you used in the dishwasher (clean up is what scares me about reusable pastry bags).
If you’re an avid baker, I highly recommend giving disposable pastry bags a try.
