It’s September which means, despite the fact that the weather here is forecasted as mid 70s to low 80s this week, I’m in the mood to break out my fall favorites.
- Maple Roasted Chicken and Sweet Potatoes from Real Simple magazine
- Chili, Aunt Ann’s No Knead Bread (a toasty hunk of bread will accompany this and the following soup perfectly)
- Butternut Bisque from Everyday Food magazine
- Double Chocolate Coconut Cookies from Martha Stewart’s Cookies

Yes! I love homemade soups, but the fall food I look forward to most each year is our annual family Thanksgiving spread. We have all the usual suspects including: turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, rolls, cranberry sauce, champagne salad, stuffing, pumpkin pie and pecan pie…I am drooling now!!
