Since I loved Everyday Food: Great Food Fast so much, I had to pick up Martha Stewart’s Cookies when I spotted it at Costco. Martha Stewart’s Cookies is a baking book with recipes for cookies, blondies, brownies, and bars arranged into sections by texture. The last section of the book also has a lot of useful information on the function of various ingredients and tools which I find absolutely fascinating. I see baking as a fun form of chemistry – interestingly, both Martha Stewart and my mother studied chemistry in college which I think is the root of why I’m such a big Martha Stewart fan. I haven’t baked anything out of this book yet but if it’s half as good as Everyday Food: Great Food Fast then it’ll be a hit. Also, while I’m on the subject of Martha Stewart, I’ve really be enjoying her video podcast available on iTunes. Twenty or so new segments are released each month. |
