Load eCoupons on your Safeway Card

by Carrie on January 6, 2010

I’m not a huge fan of online printable coupons.

I’m a Mac user and that software you have to download to print from coupons.com (and the zillion other sites that run on their system) has never worked for me. I even contacted the coupons.com technical support for help and they couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work. Other sites like Smart Source do work for me and I can print coupons from them, but the expiration dates are always so soon, some stores or individual cashiers are iffy about taking printed coupons, and I don’t like wasting paper and ink (and I might be too lazy to take the laptop upstairs and plug it into the printer) so the only coupons I print are for products that I love and would be buying even without the coupon.

I am a huge fan on eCoupons that I can load on to my Safeway club card!

These are so painless and even brainless to use. All you need to do is set up a free account with each of the sites that offers eCoupons (they’re need info like your email address and your store card number), load any or all of the coupons on to your card, and then next time you’re at the store buying a product that you have an eCoupon for you get the discount without having to do anything more than scan your card or punch in your phone number while checking out (which you’re probably doing anyway).

I usually do my grocery shopping at Safeway on Sunday so every Sunday morning I visit each of the sites that offers eCoupons for Safeway and load them on to my card. New coupons are frequently added to the sites so I make sure to check each of the sites each week.

Here are the sites that offer eCoupons for Safeway:

Once you’ve got the eCoupons loaded on your card, just stick to your list and do your normal grocery shopping and if you’re buying something that you loaded a coupon for the discount will show up on your receipt.

What a great idea to be able to put the coupons on a card. I always have trouble with my printed coupons. I have to look into if our store down here in Fla does this. Oh I hope!

Thank you THANK YOU for this! I had no idea.

I’m fairly sure Dominicks, the ubiquitous Major Grocery Chain we have in the midwest, is a Safeway subsidiary…I know I can use my Dominicks card for discounts when I visit my mom’s Safeway back east, so I’m hoping the Safeway e-coupons might work for that too…thanks!
