This pan is the perfect alternative for those of us who live in apartments or townhouses and don’t have room for a barbecue or for the rest of you who live in houses with yards but want to eat grilled food when the weather isn’t appropriate for outdoor grilling.
I’ve got it in Cobalt which meshes beautifully with the Cobalt Fiestaware I also have going on in my kitchen.
My favorite things that I’ve cooked in my Le Creuset Grill Pan so far have been turkey burgers and lamb burgers (both recipes from Everyday Food: Great Food Fast).
This pan is a bit pricey (currently listed at $164.04 on ShopNBC and $184.95 on Amazon) but I believe that it’s worth paying for quality that will last a lifetime or more. There are cast iron skillets from my great grandparents still going strong around here although they’re footed and were not compatible with my parents’ flat top electric stove. This Le Creuset pan is footless and it is indicated as being safe to use on glass and ceramic top stoves which I dream will someday replace my 1970s electric coil stove.
Take care of the things you own, especially the quality items that you want to be sure last a long time. Cast iron shouldn’t go in the dishwasher so I wash this by hand with hot soapy water and I use my vegetable brush to get down between the grill lines.
Check out home shopping sites to comparison shop Le Creuset products online.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of ShopNBC although I actually purchased this pan on my own accord from Amazon almost a year ago (and ShopNBC’s price is currently $20 better than Amazon’s).

I agree that Le Creuset is worth EVERY PENNY. It cooks beautifully, I use my 5 quart french oven for EVERYTHING short of baking… and I’m tempted to try that. I never put it away. It also lasts for ever. My mom has several pieces… one of which is a ceramic sauce pan… which is heavy… but it hasn’t gotten chipped or cracked or anything, and she’s had it 30 something years. I have only had troubles with the silicone utencils… that I have used them literally to death. But you can’t expect that to live forever.
Between Le Creuset and KitchenAid, I don’t expect to ever have to replace.
Note to self…if you internet search you CAN find deals on stuff… QVC (believe it or not…) has a few things… but check tag sales and stuff… I know my grandmother found a 5 quart pot at a garage sale for $2…. and I hollered at her for having a geranium sitting in it on the porch! She had no idea that her plant was in a $250 pot. (The geranium is still there BTW… I will save that pot at some point!) It can be done!! There are other brands too that are just as fab, Staub is one…. it is cheaper… french made and just as good… it just doesn’t have the name Le Creuset on it. About 1/3 the price at times…
I often find Le Creuset items at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, so keep an eye peeled. Also, they just opened a Le Creuset outlet outside of Cincinnati so I’m sure there are others. While the markdowns aren’t astronomical they do have a decent discount and have an “item of the week.” Also, from what I’ve seen this isn’t one of those scratch-and-dent outlets, it’s more like a regular store.
