The end of the month is near. Most coupons expire at the end of a month. Tonight I sorted through all my coupons and pulled out everything that is about to expire. Those coupons got sorted into two piles: products I probably won’t buy and products I would likely buy without a coupon. The products I probably won’t buy coupon stack got binder clipped together and put in a kitchen drawer so I can hang on to them until the end of the month just in case an amazing deal comes out this Sunday.
The other stack I took to Target to see what I could use. I chose Target because it generally has the lowest regular prices on things (well, Walmart is probably lower but I don’t shop there because of their ethics and the fact that the nearest one is almost 10 miles away). On my regular weekly shopping trips I focus on only buying items that are an especially good deal (sale price and/or store coupon plus manufacturer’s coupon) or are necessary for my meal plan that week, this Target trip gave me a chance to pick up things that don’t fit either of those categories but for which I do have a manufacturer’s coupon.
I got everything you see in the picture for $5.64 after coupons. Not too shabby so I’ll definitely be repeating this procedure towards the end of next month.
