Fudge

fudge

Here’s my favorite fudge recipe. Adapted from one of my mother’s recipes.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sour cream
2 1/4 cups sugar
5 oz small marshmallows
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix chocolate and marshmallows in large bowl. Blend sugar, butter and sour cream in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat to rolling boil stirring constantly (use a wooden spoon). Turn heat down but maintain rolling boil. Boil 6 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and pour hot mixture over chocolate chips and marshmallows. Stir until blended. Pour into buttered pans and let stand 24 hours. Cut at room temperature. Makes 2 1/2 lbs. 1 cup nuts optional. 9″ square pan or 3 dozen mini muffins.

Yum. I’ve never heard of putting sour cream in fudge, I’ll have to give this a try.

I can not wait to try this! It seems so easy compared to most fudge recipes that I don’t try because they all seem too hard!

I have been in the confectionary business for over 20 years and have never heard of soured cream in a fudge before – this deserves some investigating
