i never have. i live in a particularly high cost of living area (san francisco bay area) so i worry that what i consider a good price would still be a bad price for most of the rest of the country

I was wondering if you'd ever done anything on what good prices are for food? I graduated college a few years ago and have basically been eating out the whole time or going to the grocery to buy stuff for a recipe. I'm just starting to really build up and keep stuff in the pantry so I have stuff ready whenever but at the same time have gotten good deals on my items. The only problem is I don't really know what the good deals actually are.

I've been basing most of my purchases on the price per ounce amount that is on the shelf's label. Do you have any idea what good price points are for the staples like meats, cheeses, milk, veggies, etc. I want to make sure that while I think I may be getting a good deal that, that is really the case.

Thanks for any help, I enjoy reading.
