I won’t spend more than $1 on toothpaste

2 Angela May 19, 2009 at 11:56 AM

Tough question!

Toothbrush: $.25 maximum (paying only tax is preferred)
Toothpaste: $.50 maximum (again, prefer to pay only tax)
Shampoo: Less than $1 for a name brand

Now that I’m finally getting the hang of this couponing thing, I definitely won’t pay more than 75c for deodorant or 50c for toothpaste!

4 Heather May 19, 2009 at 12:54 PM

I have subscribed to your site through my Google Reader! Thanks!

5 Janel May 19, 2009 at 5:43 PM

I agree with everyone so far! Definitely no more than $1 for toothpaste or deodorant ever. I’m getting ready to go to a special double coupon up to $1 day at a local store. Hopefully I’ll be able to get several things free almost free.

I won’t pay more than $3.99 for frozen pizza because I can make my own much more cheaply. Also soda, I redeem my Coke Rewards because $4.98 for a twelve pack is ridiculous! Thanks!

9 Chrysa May 19, 2009 at 10:01 PM

I won’t spend more than $1 on a box of cereal.

22 B May 20, 2009 at 6:29 PM

I have to fess up here. I am not a coupon girl, but I have always wanted to get the hang of it to save more money. By reading some of the ladies comments I can see we’ve got some masters here. I’m going to have to hang out here a little more and see what I can learn.

I am new to couponing, so I can’t answer that. I just bought a couple of lots of coupons from ebay (haven’t arrived yet) and I printed some coupons for Target and Kraft this week. I could get hooked!

I’m in awe of what I’m reading here. I just purchased a binder for the purpose of couponing, now I just need the coupons to fill it! I would say that I try to get good shampoos for around $3. Still expensive, but better than the $9 they usually are.

43 Jen May 22, 2009 at 1:59 PM

I try to go fifty cents or less for toothpaste.
