eBates

by Carrie on May 14, 2010

ebateseBates payments for the first quarter of 2010 should be arriving any moment now.

This time around I’m receiving $29.03 via Paypal (and they’re set up so that no Paypal fees get taken out of that amount which is nice). This quarter I shopped at drugstore.com, iTunes, J. Crew, Vision Direct and Vista Print.

I’ve been a member of eBates since 2004 and have now received a total of $523.19 in cash back just for clicking through their site before placing orders I’d be making anyway.

If you’re not already a member it’s definitely worth signing up. If you’re planning to sign up I suggest you use one of my eBates links so that we both get $5 when you make your first purchase.

Even More Impressed with Amazon Prime

by Carrie on May 12, 2010

Amazon PrimeOver the past couples years, I’ve had a cumulative four months or so of free Amazon Prime trials. About a month ago, I decided to finally splurge for the $75 year subscription that gives you unlimited 2 day shipping on all your Amazon.com orders.

This week, I’ve become even more impressed with the program for two reasons.

  1. You can apply your Prime shipping to existing preorders.
I already had preorders placed for Super Mario Galaxy 2 (when you preorder it you get a $20 credit for future video game purchases from Amazon) and The Sims 3 Ambitions. When you view your open orders you can hit the change shipping speed button and select 2 day shipping and get your Prime benefits on those existing orders.
  2. You can share your subscription with up to 4 family members and they don’t have to live at the same address as you.
This worked out great for my sister who lives in another city where she goes to college. She was able to order a book she needed for school and use my Prime benefits.
