Baking Day: Pecan Sandies and Cherry Turnovers

by Carrie on March 16, 2009

Sunday afternoon turned into another baking day. I made Pecan Sandies from the April 2009 issue of Everyday Food and cherry turnovers which used up some random puff pastry and cherries I had in my freezer inspired by The Repressed Pastry Chef’s Apple Turnovers (cherries make much messier turnovers than apples apparently). The Pecan Sandies gave me a chance to test out my new scraper blade for my Kitchenaid mixer and it was amazing; just like everyone has been saying it really does revolutionize the Kitchenaid.

Any time you’d like to drop by my house and whip up a batch of these, you’re welcome! I’ll provide the coffee.

:-)
