Adjust Your Thermostat

by Carrie on February 10, 2009

Hopefully you’re already using a programmable thermostat. If you’re not it’s time to get one and install it. If you are, are there any adjustments you can make to your program?

I recently adjusted mine so that it turns itself on 30 minutes later in the morning. I had it set to come on at 6:30am when I need to be waking up at 7:30am but I found that every morning around 7am I was warmed up and ready to get out of bed. Since I don’t need to be up at 7am, I decided to make 7am the time the heat comes on so that I’m warmed up and ready to get out of bed at 7:30am.
You’ve probably noticed something about the way your programming is set up since you set it up and have a change or two worth making to help you save money on your heating bill and contribute a little less to global warming.
