About Me

My name is Carrie. I’m a 26 year old woman living in the San Francisco Bay Area. My day job is prepress and marketing in the printing industry and at that job I work hard to think of ways to make our printing more green and more efficient. (At this time, however, I’m undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and am on disability leave.)

My dad’s side of the family has many members who are (not officially diagnosed) obsessive compulsive hoarders. I have no doubt that hoarding is genetic and I fight the urge on a daily basis. Striving to be frugal, green, clean, and organized are tools I’ve found to combat the hoarding urges.

Since I live in alone in a high cost of living area and want to have plenty of money left over for saving and investing, I work hard to stick to a budget and live within my means.

About It’s Frugal Being Green

It’s Frugal Being Green is the story of my trials and tribulations related to being more frugal and being more green as I live my day to day life. I hope to succeed more often than I fail but it’s a struggle and a journey.

It’s nice to meet you, Carrie.

I’ve had a bit of a look around, and I like the look of your blog. So, I think I’ll stick around. :)

Carrie, Hi!

I think you’re working with a great concept. I always believe that frugality and food/environmental consciousness shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. Keep up the good job!

Hi Carrie! I was just browsing your blog and wanted to let you know I love your “being green” posts. I myself am trying to balance frugality with being environmentally friendly within a family of six. It’s great to see a blog devoted to this lifestyle especially from a young woman’s perspective who lives in a very high-cost-of-living area. Thanks for the inspiration today!

Very good site! I think I’ll bookmark this one.
It’s refreshing to hear of someone like yourself (25 yr. old) being very mature and concerned about your budget and environment.
Keep up the good work!

Hey Carrie. The lady that makes the lotion bars would like to send you her product. She asked me to forward the email she sent me on to you. If you would email me with your email address I would love to pass on the information to you.
Happy day.

I get a produce box too, they are a local Oregon company called Organics 2 you. I love it, ours is a pretty good deal I think.
