My square foot garden is planted and sprouting. It’s not marked out in squares like most other peoples’ are because I didn’t have anything on hand to mark it and wasn’t going to buy something I didn’t really need.
I’m using a 6×2 foot area which makes 11 squares since I’m leaving one square open for the drain pipe off my roof (don’t want the plants drowning).
I’ve planted red bell pepper, compact butternut squash, mini pumpkins, spinach, lettuce, mesclun, onions, carrots, peas, cilantro, and basil.
One thing I picked up at the hardware store that is really going to make my gardening tasks a lot less time consuming this year is a sprinkler attachment for the end of my hose.
What did you plant this year?

your garden looks wonderful, I am hoping to clear space in my back yard and get my garden set up so hopefully next year I can plant something.
Happy VGNO
Your garden looks great! I just posted last week about the new garden I started, too! We just used extra string/small rope to section off the 1 ft squares (we already had it on hand, I understand not buying anything new)
Oh, and you just won one of my giveaway! I emailed you, too!
Thanks so much for participating in Food Roots. What a great idea for a garden space!
Hope to see you again on Thursday for Food Roots!
What fun to make the most of your space–we have a bigger area possible in our yard, but our garden isn’t yet in. It’s drying up enough that I think we can till this week. I hope! It’s getting late in the season!
How exciting! I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a month or so!
I just love gardens. Yours looks great! I do square foot gardening too, but I never officially mark out my squares. I just plan what I want in each box and eyeball where everything goes.
Thanks for posting.
